New Roof – Blogging Away From Debt Blogging Away From Debt

Final cost…$1000 for new kitchen roof. So worth it! Why didn’t I do this sooner?
It took the contractor a few short hours to cover it. There was no “damage”, it was really just a cosmetic repair. The spots in the ceiling are where the electrical current used to run to the stove which was in the middle of the floor.
Falling in love again
My open kitchen with plenty of space for multiple cooks and multiple workstations brings joy every time I work in it. I feel really lucky to have been able to create a space and a home that is truly built for what I hold dear. I agree with the commenters that there is too much yellow. But I’ve dreamed of a yellow kitchen for years.
Now he has a beautiful “farmhouse” style roof to match.
While my main motivation to start working on some pending house projects is the real possibility of my decision to sell the house sometime in 2025. The priorities come from the realtor’s feedback and suggestions. I can’t say I haven’t fallen in love with my home all over again.
I always thought it was a shame that my parents spent all the time and money improving their house before they moved from Virginia and never enjoyed it. Although I am definitely leaning towards selling most days, this decision is certainly not confirmed yet. I will definitely enjoy the improvements as long as I’m here.
Next up…refinishing my small original pine floors. I can’t wait to see the finished project.
