Amazon CC is gone!
Another debt is fading away. Your Amazon CCCC card debt is gone forever!
Some of you may remember that this debt was almost paid off just a few months ago. Then I decided to spend more money. I will not go back to that again!
I hesitated to cancel this account because it is my second oldest credit account, so I knew closing it would hurt my credit score more than the other cards I had already closed. But just like that time, I decided I didn’t care about my credit score. I had to eliminate the temptation to even use this car again.
This card will be closed once the payment is completed and settled.
Total amount paid today is: $1412. I am so happy to have another fully paid account.
(Side note: The two cards I have already paid off and closed have been emailing me almost weekly to convince me to reactivate them. Is this normal? But I’m not even drawn to this.)
What’s next?
Based on my last debt update, my plan was to pay off my Frontier credit card next. I expected it to take a few months due to my income and the remaining balance. But now I have a full-time income. However…
I have mentioned at least once, maybe twice, that Princess needs her wisdom teeth removed. We had a consultation last month. The total cost of the surgery will be $4,010. I paid $400 of that at the time of the consultation. We have scheduled the surgery for next month (October 2024) after midterm.
So my plan is to pay off my Frontier card in full by the beginning of October. Then I will use the card for the surgery. That will save me half a month of accrued interest. Then I will pay it off in full again in November. Then I will cancel the card.
Is this a good plan, or a good use of my credit card, even temporarily? Or am I making a mistake choosing this plan?
