Modified sea showers
According to Wikipedia, a typical ten-minute shower uses up to 60 gallons of water. That means the water tank on your boat or RV We will feel tired after taking a shower once. So, we will have to follow some kind ofMarine shower
.
The thing I don’t like about the sea baths is having to turn the water off again to wash my body with soap. I’m not prepared for that kind of inconvenience in the morning. So I came up with a different system.
I took an empty shampoo bottle and filled it with water. Before I turn on the water, I use it to wet my hair and then I can shampoo. Then I turn on the water. Compared to a marine shower, this means I only turn on the water once (filling the shampoo bottle doesn’t count)
🙂 Right now, I’m interested to see if this will save us any water. I’m also interested to see if DW will prove resilient, treat it as a challenge, or ignore my heroism.
😛
Shower “fascism” seems to be a popular choice among people who are saving money and usually ends in huge arguments even though you don’t actually save a lot of money (**). One thing I’ve found is that if you want it, you’ll find solutions to make it work. If you don’t want it, you’ll find excuses why it won’t work. This leaves you with no solutions and the results of failure are a self-fulfilling prophecy.
(**) This saves over 15,000 gallons of non-renewable groundwater per year, but we are a few decades away from “peak water,” so water is still cheap. So to save money, it makes sense to focus first on house size and car size.
